Hike: Wuliaojian (Short version)

Map and description by Matteo

One of the most challenging and rewarding day hikes around Taipei. This trail is unique in that it requires both lower body and upper body strength. It’s a mix of easy dirt trails and rock surfaces negotiated via fixed ropes. The climax of this hike, Phoenix Plume Ridge, is a blade of rock jutting out of the forest below, with the trail on top. Good head for heights is required for this trail.

This is the short version of the trail and does not include the Wuliaojian peak.

GPX: We don’t link to GPX files directly anymore since links get broken whenever Wandermap updates their system. Instead you need to look on the Wandermap page, below the description of the hike, in the right corner for a “Export GPS Data” button. It will then download automatically.
